We got the sample of our solar panels and it’s beautiful. When David Smith first suggested a reddish/burgundy panel – I wasn’t convinced. But now that I’ve actually seen it and held it – I love it!
It’s very classy and looks like a dark burgundy with pinstripes! It’s going to look beautiful on the galvanized roof and will also compliment the bricks! We will need somewhere between 64 and 80+ panels.
This afternoon, Ron Hall, Editor at Large for Landscape Management magazine is interviewing Kevin Songer, Steve and me at the site. He plans to do a cover story on Kevin’s incredible Water Conservation and Landscape design. And this Thursday, we’ll find out if Kevin’s design wins the USGBC Innovation award!
Looking ahead…
On Wednesday, June 3rd, Steve and I will join Mary Tappouni and staff from Breaking Ground Contracting at the Artwalk. They will be set up at Chamblin’s Uptown (215 N. Laura St.) for their “Green Faces” Photographic exhibit. The exhibit features the faces and thoughts of building professionals, community members, home owners, business owners and others dedicated to the philosophy of building green and living sustainably.
The 11th Annual Sustainable Florida Best Practice Awards will be held the afternoon of June 9, 2009, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando. We have been nominated for the Best Practice Awards in two categories: Steve and I for the Green Building; and Villa Paraiso for team Partnership.
We’re still waiting to hear our speaking schedule for Green Trends 2009 June 10-12 in St. Petersburg. We plan to do an updated version of our Jax Green Expo presentation.
