Florida GeoSource LLC [Return to Player Listing]

Company Profile

Geothermal energy, used since the 1940's to heat homes, is now used to cool homes as well. By using the ground temperature to regulate the temperatures in homes, it effectively decreases energy consumption. This is a huge savings to the home owner. Much like solar energy is used to warm pools, geothermal energy can be used to heat and cool the home. Therefore, geothermal energy is both effective and environmentally safe.

Geothermal heating and cooling systems, also known as GeoExchange systems, tap into the constant, moderate temperatures found a few feet below the surface of the earth, to offer the finest in home comfort conditioning. “Geothermal” means pertaining to the heat of the earth, and it’s literally right there in your own backyard. The lot surrounding a suburban home or other building contains a vast reservoir of low-temperature thermal energy-typically 10 times the amount required over an entire heating season. This resource is constantly re-supplied by the sun and the surrounding earth.

Why We Chose this Partner

The decision to include GeoThermal for heating and cooling in the new house was one that Michaela and I bounced around for many days and possibly even weeks. We knew we wanted to decrease our energy consumption and our research kept coming back to a particular website; www.waterfurnace.com

In discussion with our chosen Air Conditioning contractor, we heard about Shawn Hiss from Florida GeoSource; we quickly realised that Shawn was also the recommedation of WaterFurnace who we had been speaking to with regard to their comfort systems; similar in function to basic common air conditioning units. It all came together as if it was meant to happen.

Shawns knowledge and experience helped us make this huge jump into a practice that was "normal" way before air conditioned homes existed.
